Why SKULE    Work With Us

About

SKULE.org is 501(c)(3) educational non-profit with a mission, and acronym, to Spread Knowledge Using Lyrics & Entertainment. We are a community of teachers, music artists, visual artists, and students who all have a common goal: Make Learning Fun. If you are a teacher or administrator and would like us to come to your school, either for an assembly performance or to make a video with your students and staff, please fill out the form on our partnerships page and we will get in touch with you! We are a group of selfless go-getters who will do whatever it takes to make sure your students get to have fun and learn! You can always email info@skule.org directly if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas!

Why We Do What We Do

There are many things competing for a kid’s attention. Our goal is to make learning so compelling that it “wins” the competition. This will eventually foster a natural sense of curiosity and inclination for students to view learning as a “fun” task – just like watching a movie or listening to music. The results would not just be an immediate boost in student outcomes, but a longer term mindset change. We strive for a society where adults value lifelong learning and have a thirst for knowledge.

SKULE.org is an extension of MC SKULE‘s earlier work in combining music with learning. It is run by a dedicated team committed to helping students learn. Check out the team biographies in the section below!

He studied mathematics while at university. Dante currently lives in Porltand, OR where he is the singer, guitarist, and chief songwriter of the punk/jazz band Libido Cornucopia. Our Songs

Lucky For Math, That’s What I Like!

This Bruno Mars parody to “That’s What I Like” was made by Inspirational Educator Mr. Shah (aka “MC SKULE”)’s middle school math class at Voyageur Academy. It teaches about “Equations”, and how to solve them! Instrumental Track from Bruno Mar’s Original Song. Recording and Videography by Joe Vercellino of Voyageur Academy. Student singer: Maram Aljahmi

"Lucky For Math That's What I Like" – Official Music Video

Since my middle school students kept singing Bruno Mars's "That's What I Like" in class, I decided we would make a math parody song to that. Hope you enjoy – the kids really had fun making the video (and hopefully learned a little about equations) :). Thanks to Voyageur Academy's Music Teacher Joe Vercellino for recording the audio and filming the music video!YouTube Version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSbzceePhEY #Detroit #BrunoMars #ThatsWhatILike #Equations

Feminism: The F Word

This song about gender equality was filmed in Toronto (our first international video!) and directed by well-known Bollywood director Rupan Bal. Written by MC SKULE and featuring IV Green, this video is our most viewed video to date, with over a million views.

The F Word: Feminism – Official Music Video

"Feminism" is a seemingly controversial word. This song by me and I.V. Green, directed by Rupan Bal, helps us understand that it is not what many people think. Feminism, or "gender equality", shouldn't be a political issue: it's for everyone. As the song says, "This issue isn't right or left; it's about right or wrong". Hope you enjoy!

99 Math Problems

This “Jay Z Parody” song, 99 Math Problems, by MC SKULE, Anna Hilliard, and IV Green, teaches students that anyone can be good at math if they put their mind (and some pie) to it. Tthe song was featured in NBC’s Local 4 News in Detroit! The song has received nearly half a million views on Facebook. It was featured on the homepage of the National Tutoring Association, and the Michigan Daily wrote an article about it. It is available here for a free download, or to support the cause in the process, you can buy it on iTunes for 99 cents (Get it, 99? coincidence? I think not!). Directed by Drake Whelton, Mixed and Mastered by Chuck Alkazian.
